Duties
- Assist residents and patients with daily activities such as mobility, personal hygiene, and meal preparation to promote independence and comfort
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring safety and adherence to care plans
- Engage residents with meaningful activities that foster social interaction and mental stimulation
- Monitor health status by observing changes in behaviour or physical condition and report findings promptly to nursing staff
- Provide compassionate dementia, Alzheimer's, or general senior care tailored to individual needs
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Support transportation needs by driving residents to appointments or outings when required
- Manage behaviour management strategies with patience and understanding in challenging situations
Requirements
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient care techniques including dementia, Alzheimer's, and behavioural management strategies
- Ability to perform lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility or transfers
- First aid certification or willingness to obtain training upon hire
- Strong communication skills and a caring attitude towards elderly or vulnerable populations
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed in a dynamic healthcare setting
