Part-time Bookkeeper role
2 days/week
Since 1974, Genesis Publications has published handcrafted limited-edition books with many of the world's leading musicians, photographers and artists. As an independent, family-owned publisher, we are seeking an experienced finance professional to join our small, collaborative team.
Responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping activities within the office and ensure they are carried out efficiently and effectively. The role reports directly to the Managing Directors and the Finance Manager.
- Maintain accurate financial records and reconciliations
- Processing all supplier invoices in Xero on a timely basis
- Supplier payments and maintenance of purchase ledger accuracy
- Reconciliation of sales receipts to third party platforms
- Bank reconciliations and online banking including weekly payment runs
- Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT return in line with HMRC requirements
- Maintenance of the fixed asset register
- Prepare monthly management accounts for review by the Finance Manager
- Assist the external accountants in the production of year end accounts
- Prepare payroll data for outsourced payroll service
- Administration of the staff pension scheme
- Preparation of customer statements and credit control
- Maintain orderly accounting records and supporting documentation
Essential Skills
- Previous experience in a similar position
- AAT/Qualified by experience
- Detailed knowledge of Xero
- Great attention to detail
- Strong IT and Excel skills

Pay: £16,000.00-£19,000.00 per year
