Job Summary
As a Counter Assistant at a traditional Fish and Chips takeaway, you serve as the primary point of contact for guests seeking high-quality, comfort food. You handle everything from initial customer greetings to order fulfillment in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately at the counter
- Prepare simple food items following safety and quality standards
- Serve food and beverages promptly while ensuring presentation meets company guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness of the counter area, including sanitizing surfaces and utensils regularly
- Assist with inventory management by restocking supplies and ingredients as needed
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities
- Follow all food safety protocols and proper handling procedures to ensure hygiene standards are met
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred at least 2 years.
- Operating till
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety practices
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, proactive attitude
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and measuring ingredients
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods
- Experience with serving or culinary roles is advantageous.
