Overview
Join our vibrant team as an Activities Co-ordinator, where your enthusiasm and creativity will bring joy and engagement to our residents in a care home setting. The activities coordinator is responsible for planning and delivering engaging activities that support residents' physical, emotional, social, and mental wellbeing. This is a full time role 5 days a week, and will require weekend work as and when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver daily activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities.
- Organise special events, celebrations, and outings.
- Encourage residents to participate and promote inclusion.
- Work closely with care staff, families, and volunteers.
- Keep records of activities and resident participation.
- Monitor residents' wellbeing and adapt activities to meet individual needs.
- Ensure activities are safe, enjoyable, and comply with health and safety procedures.
Essential Requirements
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A caring, patient, and compassionate attitude.
- Ability to build positive relationships with older people, including those living with dementia.
- Organisational and time management skills.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for planning varied activities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic literacy skills for record keeping and planning.
- Flexibility to work weekends or evenings when required.
