Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting individuals within the community, particularly those in care homes or receiving home care services. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to drive, ensuring that clients receive the necessary support and assistance in their daily lives.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities and personal care as outlined in their care plans.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure a high standard of care is maintained.
- Drive clients to appointments, social events, or other necessary outings as required.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date.
- Support clients in engaging with community resources and activities to enhance their quality of life.
- Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement individualised care plans tailored to each client's needs.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home care or working within a care home setting is desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are essential for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- A valid driving licence is strongly desired but not essential.
- Basic IT skills are necessary for maintaining records and communicating with the team effectively.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others is crucial for success in this role.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in various situations.

Our recruitment process consists of two stages: an initial face-to-face interview at our office, followed by a two-day training and assessment period at our Honeybourne office. Suitability for the role will be assessed by our Training Manager during this stage, before any formal offers of employment are made.
