Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food production and high standards of quality.
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet organisational standards.
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including scheduling, inventory control, and maintaining cleanliness and safety protocols.
- Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and uphold hygiene standards across all kitchen areas.
- Train and mentor junior staff, fostering a positive team environment focused on continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage suppliers to optimise resources and minimise waste.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a professional kitchen environment.
- Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques.
- Demonstrable skills in team management, training, and motivating staff members.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations applicable within the hospitality industry.
- Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, along with familiarity with serving procedures.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and management.
