Job Overview
We are a small manufacturer of high quality home furniture.
We are looking for a reliable driver and factory hand, primarily responsible for the transport of finished goods from factory to delivery depot.
You will need a practical mindset and the ability to handle physical labour. The ideal candidate will have driving experience in Luton type vans.
Daily responsibilities will include delivering from our factory near Warminster to a delivery hub in Cirencester. Liasing between the production team at the factory and the delivery teams to ensure deliveries are planned and undertaken as efficiently as possible.
Additionally the role could include collecting parts and materials from suppliers, unloading deliveries and assisting with a variety of jobs, maintenance and general duties essential to keeping a busy factory going.
This role is one for a key member of the team and is a full time salaried position, Monday to Friday, standard hours are 9-5 but will be variable according to the needs of the business.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles, including lorries and vans, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Deliver goods promptly and efficiently to designated locations, ensuring accurate order fulfilment
- Assist with loading and unloading products, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse teams
- Support workshop activities such as stock organisation, inventory checks, unloading and general maintenance
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times to ensure a safe working environment
Experience
A friendly demeanour and a great work ethic are more important the exact experience but a few essentials will help you be successful in this role, these are;
- Familiarity with lifting and manual handling tasks
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients
- Valid driving licence suitable for light commercial and with a clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment
