Job Description
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and friendly Garden Centre Retail Assistant, to work in the Garden Centre department at the home of the world famous Peter Beales Roses.
Our Garden Centre at Attleborough, Norfolk, is renowned for its quality range of plants including the UK's largest selection of roses in a garden centre. We have been breeding some of the most exquisite varieties in Norfolk for over 50 years. We have 29 prestigious RHS Chelsea Gold Medals and numerous other awards.
Within the garden centre department we are continually developing our range and there has been much work carried out over the last six months in the re-development of the site.
The day to day tasks within this role will be hands on and physical, these will include working at seasonal times with in all parts of the Peter Beales Roses business. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is happy to work inside and outside in our busy retail operation. A positive attitude to Garden Centre roles and aptitude for learning and development. Proven retail experience is essential and plant or garden knowledge would be helpful.
Responsibilities:
Working with support from the Garden Centre Manager and supervisors, you will be tasked with various roles which can include looking after plants, stocking shelves, retail till operations and general day to day tidiness. There are seasonal events throughout the year, which you will be involved in. You will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills:·
- Experience of working in retail
- Have excellent customer service skills and be confident with customers
- Be comfortable working in a physical role both indoors and outdoors
- Have an outgoing personality and a positive outlook
- Enjoy working as part of a small team
- Use of EPOS tills and stock counting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Experienced plant's person or at the very least, an interest in gardening and a willingness to learn on the job
Additional Information:
The position will involve working weekends and can be physically demanding at times.
This is a full-time position at our Attleborough site in Norfolk
