Our workshops are located in the rural storybook setting of Stockbridge, Hampshire on the River Test.
Job Overview:
The primary role of the Supply Chain and Planning Coordinator is to prepare confirmed orders ready for production. This involves first and foremost reviewing the manufacturing plan established by the Technical and Estimating Manager and identifying a realistic timeframe for completion of work based upon procurement, production capacity, and outsourcing lead times. A dynamic approach to procurement is required to ensure the best commercial terms are achieved between suppliers and subcontractors.
Once all elements of the order have been brought together, the Supply Chain & Planning Coordinator then releases the order for production.
The Supply Chain & Planning Coordinator will report to the Group Procurement Manager and will work alongside the Design and Production Teams when elements of the design require additional technical support, so acquiring a high knowledge base of Production capabilities is essential.
They should regularly contribute to technical-based discussions with the Operations team, using industry knowledge to advise on market requirements and trends.
At times the Supply Chain & Planning Coordinator may perform an assisting role when dealing with non-production tasks or additional requirements such as logistics planning.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews the manufacturing plan established by the Technical and Estimating Manager or and Senior Design Engineer.
- Ensures procurement and outsourcing elements of the order are activated.
- Works closely with the Production Manager to establish a realistic timeframe in accordance with the Production Schedule.
- Liaises with the Production team to ensure all technical aspects of the order are understood and clear.
Requirements:
- Proven track record working within an engineering manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work in an organised and structured way, with strong multitasking skills.
- Confident in telephone and email correspondences with subcontractors and customers.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with different teams across the business.
- Experience using an Enterprise Resource Planning System.
Working Hours:
- 39 hours per week
- Shift pattern: Monday-Thursday 8am - 5pm, Friday 8am-1pm
