We are looking for a highly versatile and self motivated maintenance technician (mechanical) /Shift Engineer, Trade qualified with experience who will be part of a small engineering team involved in a dynamic and varied role helping to support the smooth running our plant in Belfast. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent maintenance and fault-finding skills. They must demonstrate flexibility with a hands-on approach and a can-do attitude dealing with a wide variety of tasks.
The Role:
Working as a member of the Engineering Team, the successful candidate will provide multiskilled engineering and maintenance cover across the entire production facility. Duties will include: -
- Completion of all routine maintenance, in line with the agreed site plan.
- Repair and maintenance of the plant and its equipment, to ensure faults are identified quickly and production downtime is minimised.
- Accurate recording of all work undertaken for compliance and audit purposes.
- Ensuring all duties are undertaken in line with current health & safety legislation.
- Executing preventative/unplanned maintenance
- Perform investigations and conduct root cause analysis
- Carry out maintenance, diagnosis, calibration, and repair of plant, equipment, facilities and utilities.
Troubleshoot and repair motors, mechanical circuits, and all mechanical and electrical systems, equipment, process, facility and utility issues.
Perform routine and on-the-spot tests of all mechanical and electrical systems.
Follow Safety Regulations - follow and maintain all safety standards and regulations
- Record all maintenance issues, machine changes, faults, breakdowns, spares required and recommendations.
- Carry out project work
- Ensure there is sufficient electrical and mechanical spares and flag short falls to management.
The Candidate:
Must have;
- An experienced multi-skilled engineer (mechanical) /Shift Engineer, Trade qualified) with some electrical knowledge.
- Proven track record within a fast-paced production environment.
- Conversant with PLC’s.
- Proactive and can-do attitude.
- Communication Skills
- Confidentiality
- Ideally from a Laundry or FMCG industry background
