About Lambert Medical Practice
Lambert Medical Practice operates alongside Lambert Sports Clinic at our Tolworth site, providing private GP and sports medicine services to the local community, with a particular focus on the Portuguese and Brazilian communities across South West London. We are a growing, modern practice with an emphasis on high-quality, patient-centred care, supported by an established multidisciplinary clinical team.
Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a GMC-registered, GP-registered General Practitioner to join our clinical team on a part-time, sessional basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a GP looking for flexible hours within a well-established private practice, with the potential for the role to grow over time as demand increases.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide private GP consultations to patients, both in person and, where appropriate, via telephone or video consultation.
- Undertake patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning in accordance with GMC standards of practice.
- Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records in line with practice and regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the wider clinical team, including physiotherapists and allied health practitioners, to ensure joined-up patient care.
- Provide clear explanations of diagnoses, treatment options, and expected outcomes, ensuring informed consent is obtained.
- Refer patients appropriately for further investigation, specialist opinion, or diagnostic testing as required.
- Adhere to all practice policies, including health and safety, infection control, safeguarding, and data protection (UK GDPR).
- Maintain CPD in accordance with GMC revalidation requirements.
Essential Criteria
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC), with a licence to practise.
- Registration on a GP Performers List (or equivalent GP registration).
- Up-to-date CPD and appraisal/revalidation history.
- Current medical indemnity cover (or willingness to arrange this).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with a diverse patient base.
Desirable Criteria
- Based locally to Tolworth/Surbiton, or able to commute easily to the practice.
- Experience working within a private practice or sports medicine setting.
- Portuguese language skills (an advantage, given our patient demographic, though not essential).
- Experience with private insurers (e.g. Bupa, AXA Health, Aviva, Vitality, WPA).
Working Pattern
This role is offered initially on a basis of 4 to 8 hours per week, with sessions to be agreed to suit both the successful candidate's availability and practice demand. There is potential for hours to increase over time as the practice grows.
