The Department of Music is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Music (Musicology) on a part-time (0.8 FTE) Teaching and Scholarship contract based at the Liverpool campus. This fixed-term role has been created to provide teaching support while a member of staff undertakes an AHRC-funded research project.
You will contribute to teaching, administration and scholarship, with responsibility for delivering musicological modules in Jazz (Semester 1) and Musical Theatre (Semester 2). Additional teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level will be aligned with departmental needs and the candidate’s expertise.
Experience or knowledge in areas such as popular music, music industry studies, music technology, Beatles studies, or placement supervision would be advantageous.
You should have experience of teaching and assessment in Higher Education and hold a postgraduate qualification in Music or a related discipline. A completed PhD is desirable.
While there is no expectation to contribute to REF2029, you will have access to mentoring and support to develop their scholarly activity within the Department’s active research community.
