Q Fire Protection and Carpentry are a leading fire safety business based in Glasgow and covering the UK.

The role:
To install fire doors in customer premises, covering a wide range of sectors including care homes, hospitals, schools, hotels etc.
Key tasks
- Installation of new BM Trada Q Mark Fire Doors and frames and custom made FD30 and FD60.
- Install door blanks
- To be familiar with and understand the current fire regulations to ensure the doors are fully compliant.
- To be able to identify labels, CE marks and Plugs to show that a door is certified.
- Fire Door Maintenance / Remedial Works
- Demonstrate an understanding of what service delivery excellence is for your role, ensuring you deliver the basics right every time and lead a team where service is central to good performance.
- Awareness of your operational and regulation risks which may impact on your operations.
- Responsibility for reporting any risk which may impact the business
- Conduct any Risk Assessments and Method Statements, compiling reports in line with H&S requirements
- Liaising with the Operations team to ensure any compliance as part of your role is in line with the framework set.
- Familiar with the BM Trada Q Mark Scheme is preferred but full training can be given.
- Install/maintaining fire doors.
- Proven track record in installing fire doors and/or fire door maintenance.
- Some fire stopping experience is preferred.
- Self-motivated, reliable, punctual and take pride in the quality of your work
- Willingness to travel/work away and be flexible when required.
- Able to act in a professional manner at all times
- Good communication Skills.
- Be an ambassador for our business
- SVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Carpentry or Joinery or be able to demonstrate previous experience undertaking this type of work
- SVQ in Passive Fire would be an advantage although training towards this can be provided
- FIRAS / BM TRADA / IFC accredited would be an advantage although training towards this can be provided
- Full tool kit to carry out the works required, ideally all battery-operated tools
- Full UK Drivers licence and own van
- CSCS Card Joinery (Blue or Gold)
Full-time
: Based on experience.
- Monday to Friday
- Drylining: 1 year (preferred)
Pay: Up to £250.00 per day
