Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Years Lead Practitioner to join our childcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for supporting young children's development. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team, implement high-quality early childhood education programmes, and create a nurturing environment for children aged from birth to five years. The successful applicant will be committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and stimulating setting that promotes learning through play and exploration.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the early years team, ensuring high standards of care and education are maintained at all times
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging activities that support children's developmental needs in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
- Monitor and assess individual progress of children, maintaining detailed records and reports for parents and management
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children by adhering to safeguarding policies and health & safety regulations
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers through effective communication and regular updates on children's progress
- Organise staff rotas, manage daily operations, and support team members in their professional development
- Contribute to the organisation's policies, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating environment suitable for early childhood learning
- Drive compliance with all legal requirements related to childcare provision
Qualifications
- Proven management and leadership experience within early childhood settings or nurseries
- Extensive experience working directly with children in childcare or nursery environments
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and the EYFS framework
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent recognised qualification
- Valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate travel between multiple settings or community outreach activities
- Ability to organise workload effectively whilst maintaining a nurturing approach towards children and colleagues

Pay: £27,659.20-£30,000.00 per year
