We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our team supporting a lady living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and complex healthcare needs in her own home in Dane Bank.
We are currently recruiting Female Support Workers to work as part of an established team, providing person-centred support across a 7-day service, including weekends.
Shift times: Between 9:00am and 9:00pm on a rota basis.
Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour following successful induction, plus enhanced rates for Bank Holidays.
Permanent contracts are available following the successful completion of your probation period.
About the Role
We are looking for caring, reliable and committed individuals to support a lady living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and complex healthcare needs in her own home. Your role will be to provide high-quality, person-centred support while promoting independence, dignity and choice.
As her confidence and health allow, you will also support her to access activities and interests that are important to her, helping her to achieve her personal goals.
Your role will include:
- Providing personal care
- Administering medication
- Supporting with delegated clinical healthcare tasks
- Assisting with moving and handling
- Supporting with appointments and accessing meaningful activities
- Promoting independence, dignity and wellbeing
- Maintaining accurate care records
- Working closely as part of a supportive and professional team
Experience
Previous care experience is preferred but not essential, as full client-specific training and ongoing support will be provided.
Training and competency assessments will include:
- Medication administration
- Personal care
- Moving and handling
- Cough Assist
- Suctioning
- Delegated clinical healthcare tasks
Essential Requirements
- Female applicants only (this post is exempt under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 due to the nature of the personal care provided)
- Full UK driving licence
- Comfortable working in a home with dogs
- Good communication skills
- Reliable, flexible and committed
- Able to work on a rota basis, including weekends and Bank Holidays
- Willing to complete mandatory client-specific training
- Enhanced DBS check (to be completed before employment)
