As the OHL Site Engineer, you will be responsible for the organising and prioritisation of on-site OHL works, we call projects. Essentially they are maintenance, installations or refurbishments of electricity transmission high voltage plant and equipment. You’ll support Team Leaders, HV SAP and teams of OHL Linesperson’s ensuring they are productive through working safely and efficiently. This includes the planning and allocation of works, pre-ordering of equipment, plant and spares reducing the risk of planned work not starting. Your role also requires authorisations under NG Safety rules and procedures, so we’ll put you through training for Competent Person (CP).
You’ll employ the duties of General Site Supervisor with accountability for work place safety and compliance with external regulations and National Grid policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include conducting risk assessments and method statements, monitoring compliance and promoting a safety culture.
