Role Overview
The Retail & Marketing Manager is responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day running of the dry cleaning and laundry shop while driving customer engagement, brand visibility, and sales through effective social media and marketing activity. This role blends hands‑on shop management with creative digital marketing, ensuring the business delivers exceptional customer service both in‑store and online.
Key Responsibilities -
Shop Management
- Manage daily shop operations, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and welcoming customer experience
- Supervise and support shop staff, including training, task allocation, and performance monitoring
- Handle customer enquiries, special requests, complaints, and service issues professionally
- Oversee garment intake, tagging, logging, and order tracking to maintain accuracy and prevent loss
- Maintain shop presentation, cleanliness, and merchandising standards
- Monitor stock levels for packaging, consumables, chemicals, and retail items
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, fire safety, COSHH, and company procedures
- Assist with workflow planning during busy periods and coordinate with production teams
Social Media & Marketing
- Create engaging content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms
- Plan and execute weekly social media posts, stories, reels, and promotional campaigns
- Respond to online enquiries, comments, and messages to build customer relationships
- Photograph and film services, before/after results, shop activity, and customer testimonials
- Develop marketing ideas to promote new services (e.g., shoe cleaning, alterations, hotel laundry)
- Manage online reviews, reputation, and customer feedback
- Track engagement analytics and adjust content strategy to maximise reach
- Support seasonal promotions, anniversary campaigns, charity partnerships, and local outreach
- Work with management to design flyers, posters, email campaigns, and in‑store signage
Skills & Attributes
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Confident using social media platforms and basic content creation tools
- Creative eye for photography, video, and brand presentation
- Organised, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks at once
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced retail environment
- Positive, friendly, and professional attitude
- Ability to analyse engagement data and adapt marketing strategy
- Basic understanding of garment care (training provided)
Experience
- Previous experience in retail, customer service, or shop management
- Experience creating social media content for a business or brand
- Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and digital marketing trends
- Experience in dry cleaning or laundry (desirable but not essential)
- Basic photography or video skills beneficial

Pay: £13.50-£15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 42.5 per week
