Marketing Manager (Part-Time)
Location: Barnsley, South Yorkshire
Hours: Approximately 2–3 days per week, flexible
Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience
Work Location: In person
About Us
We are a well-established, family-owned commercial property company based in Barnsley. Established in 1954, we are now into our third generation and continue to grow our portfolio of multi-let industrial estates alongside our successful self-storage business.
We are looking for an experienced, commercially minded marketer to take ownership of our marketing and help drive the next stage of our development.
The Role
This is a hands-on marketing role combining strategy with delivery.
We want someone who can identify opportunities, make recommendations and then turn those ideas into action. You will be the driving force behind our marketing across both commercial property and self-storage, helping us generate more enquiries, improve online visibility and strengthen our brand.
This is not a role for someone who only wants to manage agencies or delegate the practical work. We are looking for someone experienced enough to set direction, but who still enjoys getting involved and delivering the work themselves.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and delivering our marketing strategy.
- Managing and improving our websites and WordPress content.
- Improving SEO, local search visibility and Google rankings.
- Managing Google Business Profiles across our sites.
- Planning and delivering campaigns for vacant industrial units and self-storage.
- Creating social media, email and website content.
- Producing brochures, property particulars, banners, signage and other marketing materials.
- Maintaining consistent branding across digital and physical locations.
- Using Google Analytics, Search Console and other tools to measure performance and enquiry levels.
- Carrying out competitor research and bringing forward new ideas and opportunities.
About You
You will be proactive, commercially minded and comfortable working independently. We want someone who can look at the business and say: “This is what I think we should improve, this is why, and this is how I would do it.”
Ideally, you will have practical experience in several of the following:
- Digital marketing and campaign management.
- SEO and local search.
- Google Business Profiles.
- WordPress or a similar CMS.
- Google Analytics and Search Console.
- Social media and content creation.
- Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Email marketing and CRM systems.
- Branding, copywriting and lead generation.
Experience in commercial property, self-storage or another location-based business would be an advantage, but is not essential.
Hands-On Delivery With Office Support
You will have administrative support within the office for appropriate non-technical tasks such as chasing suppliers, gathering information and routine follow-up. This is intended to allow you to spend your time where your expertise adds most value: strategy, ideas, implementation, creative work and analysis.
We therefore expect you to be comfortable personally updating websites, writing copy, improving SEO, managing Google Business Profiles, creating campaign content and reviewing performance.
What We Offer
- Flexible part-time hours.
- Competitive salary dependent on experience.
- A varied role with genuine responsibility and autonomy.
- Administrative support to help you focus on higher-value marketing work.
- The opportunity to shape the marketing direction of a growing family business.
- A long-term role where your ideas will be listened to and your work can make a visible difference.
This is an in-person Barnsley role, approximately 2–3 days per week. Please only apply if regular travel to Barnsley is practical for you on a long-term basis.
If you are an experienced marketer who enjoys both thinking and doing and wants genuine ownership of a marketing function, we would be very interested to hear from you.
