Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Plasterer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying plaster to interior and exterior surfaces, creating smooth, durable finishes that enhance the aesthetic and structural quality of buildings. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers to ensure proper adhesion of plaster.
- Mix plaster materials accurately according to specifications for different applications.
- Apply plaster using hand tools such as trowels, hawks, and floats to create smooth finishes on walls, ceilings, and other surfaces.
- Utilize power tools like mixers and drills to facilitate efficient plaster application.
- Perform bricklaying and masonry tasks when required to support structural elements.
- Install or repair roofing components as needed, ensuring weatherproofing and durability.
- Operate welding equipment safely for specialized repair or reinforcement tasks when necessary.
- Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople to coordinate work sequences and ensure project timelines are met.
- Follow safety protocols diligently, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in plastering, masonry, or related trades with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as trowels, floats, and scrapers; experience with power tools is essential.
- Knowledge of bricklaying techniques and masonry principles for structural support tasks.
- Ability to operate roofing equipment and welding tools safely and effectively.
- Basic carpentry skills for framing or finishing work that complements plastering efforts.
- Familiarity with safety standards and procedures relevant to construction sites.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality craftsmanship.
