We are seeking a dedicated SEN 1:1 Support Worker to provide specialised assistance to children with special educational needs, particularly those with autism and disabilities. Responsibilities
- Provide personalised support to children with special educational needs, including those with autism and disabilities
- Assist with daily activities and behavioural management strategies tailored to individual requirements
- Support children with their smart targets, during activities, playtime, and social interactions to promote engagement and inclusion
- Implement teaching strategies under the supervision of educators or specialists to facilitate learning and development
- Foster a safe, nurturing environment that encourages confidence and independence
- Communicate effectively with children, colleagues, and parents to ensure consistent support and progress tracking
- Assist with care when required, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with autism or disabilities is highly desirable
- Knowledge of special education principles and inclusive teaching methods
- Proven ability to work effectively with children in educational or care settings
- Strong communication skills to interact clearly and empathetically with children, colleagues, and families
- Patience, resilience, and adaptability in managing diverse needs and behaviours
- Ability to follow instructions accurately while demonstrating initiative when appropriate
