Preps Manager – AV, Lighting, Audio & Special Effects

Salary: £37,500 – £40,000 (Depending on Experience)

Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Preps Manager to manage the preparation of outgoing equipment for event productions and hires
You will play a critical role in ensuring equipment leaves the warehouse accurate, fully functional, and presented to the highest standard, while also supporting continuous improvement across prep operations
This is a vital operational role within the business, working closely with the Technical, Logistics and Production departments

Key Responsibilities
Operational & Technical role
- Manage the prep process for event productions and hires, ensuring 100% accuracy against job spec
- Ensure all equipment is tested, checked, labelled, and presented to Halo’s high standards before dispatch
- Ensure all listed kit’s contents are present and functional
Planning, Coordination & Logistics
- Work closely with the Warehouse Manager, Hire Manager and Event Operations Managerto plan prep schedules and vehicle loading
- Coordinate with De-Prep and Check-In teams to maintain efficient stock rotation and minimise turnaround times
- Anticipate upcoming workload pressures and flag resourcing or timing risks early
- Support event timelines by ensuring prep is aligned with production schedules and delivery windows
Systems, Stock & Compliance
- Use warehouse scanning and stock management systems to allocate equipment
- Support stock control, asset care, and loss prevention processes
- Ensure prep bays and working areas remain clean, organised, and compliant with H&S standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement of warehouse processes and workflows
Wider Responsibilities
- Drive improvements in prep efficiency, contribute ideas and feedback for kit utilisation, and team performance
- Act as a key operational contact between warehouse and hires / event operations departments
Required Skills & Experience
- Either extensive experience in warehouse operations or on-site work within the UK live events industry (essential)
- Working technical knowledge of Audio, Lighting, AV, and Special Effects products
- Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong communication skills and confidence working cross-departmentally
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality control
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
- Confident using scanning and stock management systems
- Proactive, solution-focused approach with a calm attitude under pressure
