Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality care to individuals in a care home or home care setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting residents with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while adhering to care plans. This role requires effective communication skills, a commitment to patient care, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support individuals with mobility and physical activities as needed.
- Help with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to nursing staff.
- Engage residents in social activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Follow established care plans and contribute to the development of new plans as necessary.
- Drive to various locations if required for home care services, ensuring safe transportation of clients.
- Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes effectively.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare or caring role is desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being capable of working independently.
- Knowledge of care plans and the ability to implement them accurately.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for roles involving home visits.
- A genuine passion for providing high-quality care and support to individuals in need.
