Job Description:
We are working with a mainstream primary school in Eastbourne to find a committed, proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join their TA team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys supporting children with SEN needs and understands the importance of a calm, nurturing environment. You will be part of a highly experienced and supportive team, helping pupils develop their communication, independence and emotional regulation.
You will provide tailored support to pupils in whole-class, small-group and 1:1 environments, working closely with children with SEN needs while maintaining a calm, flexible and proactive approach. It is a creative, hands-on environment designed to help pupils feel safe and confident in their learning throughout the school day.
Ideal candidates will:
- Have experience in nurseries, care settings, education or youth work. Those with experience in health care also do well in this school
- Remain calm and responsive in busy or challenging situations
- Understand sensory and communication needs
- Be a strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Bring positivity, patience and initiative to the role
- Be comfortable with personal care.
