Duties of the Registered General Nurse
- Deliver comprehensive resident care by assessing individual needs and developing personalized care plans.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols, ensuring resident safety and adherence to regulations.
- Monitor residents’ conditions closely, observing for changes in symptoms or behaviour, and respond promptly to any concerns.
- Maintain detailed, clear documentation of resident interactions, treatments, and progress in accordance with healthcare standards.
- Support residents through therapeutic activities, emotional support, and health education to promote recovery and well-being.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including doctors, therapists, and social workers to coordinate holistic care.
- Uphold safety protocols by conducting risk assessments, managing emergencies efficiently, and ensuring a secure environment for all.
Qualifications of the Registered General Nurse
- Valid registration as a Mental Health Nurse or General Nurse with the appropriate regulatory body. (NMC Pin)
- Proven experience in patient care within mental health or general medical settings.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to inform clinical decision-making.
- Competence in medication administration with an understanding of pharmacology principles.
- Excellent communication skills to engage empathetically with patients and collaborate with team members.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while managing multiple priorities effectively.
