Deputy Nursery Manager

Location: Hereford, HR2 9HJ – based on a welcoming school campus just 10 minutes from Hereford.
KES Child Care is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join our friendly team. Working alongside the Nursery Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring high standards of care, education, safeguarding, and compliance while helping to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
This role includes supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), working closely with families, the SENCO, and external professionals to ensure every child reaches their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Nursery Manager in the daily operation of the nursery and lead the setting in their absence.
- Lead and oversee the day-to-day running of our Pre-School Room, ensuring a high-quality learning environment where children are supported to achieve their full potential through engaging, age-appropriate experiences.
- Ensure compliance with EYFS, safeguarding, health and safety, and Ofsted requirements.
- Lead, motivate, and support the nursery team.
- Promote inclusive practice and support children with SEND.
- Work in partnership with parents, carers, the SENCO, and external agencies.
- Monitor children's learning and development.
- Support staff training, supervision, and professional development.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement.
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Early Years qualification or above.
- Experience in a senior or supervisory role within an Early Years setting.
- Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and SEND.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Passion for delivering high-quality childcare and education.
- Enhanced DBS check
