Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Cleaning Supervisor / Team Leader to oversee and coordinate cleaning operations across various sites. The ideal candidate must possess a valid UK driving licence and be comfortable leading a team to deliver high standards of cleanliness. This role involves managing daily tasks, ensuring safety compliance, and motivating team members to achieve operational excellence. Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is highly desirable. The successful applicant will play a vital role in maintaining our reputation for exceptional service delivery while demonstrating strong leadership skills.
Team Supervision & Operations
- Supervise cleaning staff across multiple sites to ensure high-quality service delivery and compliance with company standards.
- Allocate and coordinate daily cleaning schedules, staffing requirements and job assignments.
- Ensure all jobs are completed within agreed timescales and to the required standard.
- Provide hands-on support with cleaning duties where required.
- Monitor job progress and proactively address operational challenges.
Residential, End of Tenancy & Specialist Cleaning
- Lead and supervise residential cleaning projects including end of tenancy, deep cleaning, after-builders cleaning and specialist cleaning assignments.
- Ensure end of tenancy cleans meet landlord, letting agent and inventory standards.
- Carry out final inspections before customer handover and identify any areas requiring further attention.
- Support teams with stain removal, appliance cleaning, carpet cleaning coordination and specialist cleaning tasks.
- Ensure photographic evidence and job completion records are obtained where required.
Site Management & Assessments
- Carry out site visits and assessments prior to new jobs to evaluate scope, cleaning requirements, labour hours and equipment needs.
- Prepare recommendations regarding staffing levels, scheduling and operational requirements.
- Conduct regular site audits and quality inspections.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions where required.
Client Interaction & Relationship Management
- Act as a key point of contact for clients both on-site and remotely.
- Conduct client consultations and site visits where required.
- Ensure client expectations are clearly understood and delivered.
- Handle customer feedback, queries and complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Maintain strong long-term relationships with residential, commercial and letting agent clients.
Staff Management & Development
- Train, onboard and support new and existing cleaning operatives.
- Monitor staff performance and provide coaching and development where required.
- Arrange cover for holiday, sickness and emergency absences.
- Promote a positive, professional and customer-focused team culture.
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
- Maintain strong knowledge and application of COSHH regulations.
- Ensure correct use of cleaning chemicals, machinery and equipment.
- Complete relevant risk assessments and incident reporting where required.
Business Development & Growth Support
- Support the business in maintaining excellent customer satisfaction and review scores.
- Assist with obtaining customer reviews and feedback.
- Identify opportunities for additional services and operational improvements.
- Support business growth initiatives including residential, commercial and supported accommodation contracts.
Additional Duties
- Support emergency and reactive cleaning requirements where required.
- Assist with operational improvements, systems implementation and process development.
- Carry out any other duties reasonably required to support business operations.
Candidate RequirementsEssential
- Previous experience in a Cleaning Supervisor, Cleaning Team Leader or Cleaning Management role.
- Strong hands-on experience in residential cleaning.
- Proven experience supervising or carrying out End of Tenancy Cleaning to landlord and letting agent standards.
- Experience in deep cleaning and specialist cleaning projects.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong understanding of COSHH and professional cleaning standards.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage teams whilst remaining hands-on when required.
- Organised, reliable and solution-focused.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Confident using email, Microsoft Office and basic IT systems.
- Practical knowledge of professional cleaning chemicals and surface care.
Desirable
- BICSc qualification or membership.
- Experience in carpet cleaning and upholstery cleaning.
- Experience in after-builders cleaning.
- Experience working with letting agents, property managers and housing providers.
- Experience supervising multiple teams across different locations.

Work Location
On the road – Multiple sites across Kent, Essex and London, including travel to various client locations.
Pay: £28,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
