Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Technical Project Manager to oversee and deliver complex technology projects within our organisation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall, and have extensive experience with software development lifecycles, cloud computing, and various project management tools. Duties
- Lead end-to-end project management activities, including requirements gathering, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of projects across multiple departments.
- Utilise project management software such as Microsoft Project, Jira, TFS, and SharePoint to develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria while managing expectations through effective negotiation and communication.
- Oversee the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), ensuring adherence to best practices such as test-driven development and user acceptance testing.
- Facilitate Agile frameworks like Kanban and Scrum (SAFe) alongside traditional Waterfall methodologies to optimise workflow efficiency.
- Manage release planning and deployment activities including release management and disaster recovery planning.
- Monitor project progress using organisational tools such as Visio and Microsoft Excel; track key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare comprehensive reports for senior management.
- Lead risk assessment activities related to cloud computing platforms such as AWS and Oracle; implement mitigation strategies proactively.
- Ensure compliance with organisational standards by establishing quality assurance processes including test case development and analysis skills.
- Foster a collaborative environment by providing leadership to project teams; mentor junior staff where appropriate.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends in programme management, cloud solutions, SQL databases, and related technologies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in project management within a technology or software development environment.
- Strong familiarity with project management methodologies including SAFe, Waterfall, Kanban, and TFS.
- Proficiency in using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, SharePoint, Visio, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Office Suite.
- Hands-on experience with SDLC processes including requirements gathering, test-driven development, user acceptance testing (UAT), and release management.
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms like AWS and Oracle; understanding of disaster recovery procedures is desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities; capable of conducting thorough analysis for decision-making purposes.
- Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—to liaise effectively with technical teams and stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams towards achieving project goals efficiently.
- Relevant certifications such as PMP or Prince2 are preferred but not essential.

Pay: £35,241.58-£74,640.89 per year
