Roles That Matter
St Helens Borough Council is seeking a motivated Regulatory Services Compliance Officer (Noise Control) to join our Environmental Protection team.
This specialist role offers an exciting opportunity to lead noise and vibration investigations across the borough, playing a key part in protecting residents and communities from the impact of noise nuisance. You will work across a wide range of cases, including commercial, industrial and, where required, domestic premises, as well as providing expert technical advice on planning applications, licensing matters and major events.
As the Council’s specialist officer for noise control, you will use acoustic monitoring equipment and software to assess noise and vibration levels, provide professional advice to colleagues and stakeholders, contribute to enforcement action, and represent the Council at committees, hearings and court proceedings as necessary.
We are looking for a qualified environmental protection professional with a strong knowledge of noise control legislation, excellent investigative and communication skills, and the ability to interpret technical information and provide clear, practical and proportionate solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic officer looking to further develop their expertise in environmental protection and make a meaningful contribution to achieving positive outcomes for residents, businesses, and the wider borough.
