Sackville-West Moving & Storing Ltd are looking for a Temporary Warehouse Operative to work at our Warehouses on the West Portway Industrial Estate in Andover. This is initially a temporary role until the end of August 2026, with the potential of becoming a permanent position for the right candidate.
We move and store Antiques and Artwork so a careful, can-do attitude is essential, as well as being physically strong and fit as heavy lifting is required at times.
Sometimes there is a requirement to work beyond 4.30 to help our Van Drivers unload and prepare for the next day, but this is paid as overtime. Some Saturday work is required from time to time too (approximately 1 in 4) but again paid as overtime.
The role:
- Working under the supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor
- Assisting with goods in and out of the warehouse
- Checking off collections & deliveries against paperwork/delivery notes
- Preparing, packing and labelling furniture, Artwork and Fragiles
- Managing stock of packaging materials
- Assist drivers with loading and unloading of vehicles
- Checking in and out of items and maintaining the warehouse itinerary
- Keep the company vehicles clean and presentable
- Keep the warehouse organised and clean
- Follow all safety procedures and adhere to company policies
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
The Candidate will ideally have:
- Some experience of working in a Warehouse environment
- A friendly and helpful attitude
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications and basic warehousing processes
Desired but not essential:
- A current forklift licence (refresher or full training will be given if required)
