Experienced Waiter or Waitress

Starting rate: £15 per hour
Grilandia Mayfair is looking for an experienced, confident and enthusiastic Waiter or Waitress to join our front of house team.
We are looking for someone with a strong restaurant background, excellent guest service skills and the ability to work well in a busy, high standard hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will be warm, professional, organised and able to deliver a polished dining experience from greeting guests through to payment and farewell.
Key duties
- Welcome guests warmly and create a positive first impression
- Take orders accurately and confidently
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high presentation standards
- Give clear menu information and answer guest questions professionally
- Support guests with allergen and dietary queries by following the correct restaurant procedures
- Upsell food, drinks and specials naturally while respecting guest preferences
- Maintain clean and organised tables, side stations and service areas
- Handle guest queries or complaints calmly and professionally
- Work closely with the management, kitchen, bar and front of house team to keep service running smoothly
- Support opening, closing and daily cleaning procedures
- Follow food safety, hygiene and health and safety standards at all times
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in front of house restaurant work
- Experience in a busy restaurant environment is essential
- Strong guest service skills with a confident and friendly approach
- Good understanding of professional restaurant service standards
- Ability to work under pressure during busy periods
- Strong communication skills and good personal presentation
- Basic maths skills for billing, payments and cash handling
- Reliable, punctual and flexible with shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Comfortable working as part of a team and supporting colleagues across service
Beneficial experience
- Lebanese or Mediterranean food experience is beneficial, but not strictly required
- Knowledge of bar service, drinks service, wine, cocktails or mocktails
- Understanding of food hygiene and food safety procedures
- Awareness of allergens and dietary requirements
- HACCP knowledge
- COSHH awareness
- Experience with restaurant opening and closing procedures
- Experience handling guest complaints professionally
- Experience using restaurant till systems or booking platforms
