KI Sound & Light Ltd is an established event production company specialising in professional audio, lighting, video, staging and rigging for exhibitions, conferences, festivals and live events throughout the UK.
As the Principal Rigging Contractor for ExCeL London, we work on some of the country's largest exhibitions and events, delivering projects for world-renowned brands and organisers. Based in Essex, we're a close-knit team that prides itself on delivering exceptional service, maintaining the highest technical standards and always going the extra mile for our clients.
We're looking for a motivated, practical and reliable Warehouse & Production Technician to join our growing team. Whether you already have experience in the AV industry or you're looking to build a long-term career in live events, we'll provide the support, training and opportunities to help you develop.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on role at the heart of our operation. You'll be responsible for preparing, maintaining and managing our extensive range of professional event equipment, ensuring everything leaves our warehouse in excellent condition and returns ready for its next event.
No two days are the same. One week you could be preparing LED video walls for a major exhibition at ExCeL London, the next testing audio systems for a corporate conference or checking equipment returning from festivals and outdoor events.
Working alongside our experienced technical team, you'll develop an excellent understanding of professional event production equipment while playing a key role in delivering successful events across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, test and configure equipment for upcoming hires and events.
- Inspect, clean and book in equipment returning from hire.
- Carry out routine maintenance and basic repairs.
- Report damaged, faulty or missing equipment.
- Assist with stock control and regular warehouse audits.
- Ensure equipment is stored safely, correctly and efficiently.
- Load and unload company vehicles safely and securely.
- Help maintain a clean, organised and professional warehouse environment.
- Follow company procedures and health & safety policies at all times.
- Occasionally assist with on-site event installations and de-rigs where required.
Equipment You'll Work With
You'll gain hands-on experience with a wide range of professional event production equipment, including:
- Large-format LED video walls and display solutions.
- Professional audio systems, microphones and mixing consoles.
- Intelligent lighting fixtures and lighting control systems.
- Special effects equipment.
- Truss, rigging and lifting equipment.
- Modular staging systems.
- Power distribution and event infrastructure.
- Show control and networking equipment.
About You

- Experience working with professional audio, lighting or video equipment.
- Forklift license (or willingness to obtain one).
- Experience within the live events, entertainment or production industry.
- IPAF, PASMA or working at height qualifications (training can be provided).
