Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Baby Room Leader to oversee and nurture our youngest children. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, along with experience working with infants and toddlers. This role involves creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for children, while ensuring the highest standards of childcare are maintained. The Baby Room Leader will play a vital role in guiding and mentoring team members, fostering positive relationships with families, and promoting early childhood development.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the baby room team, ensuring high-quality care and educational activities are delivered.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate programmes that support early childhood development milestones.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for infants and toddlers.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, needs, and daily routines.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Support team members through coaching, mentoring, and professional development initiatives.
- Organise daily routines including feeding, nappy changing, playtime, and sleep schedules.
- Keep accurate records of children's activities, progress, and any incidents or concerns.
- Assist with organising outings or activities that enhance learning experiences outside the nursery setting.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of nursery practices through feedback and innovation.
Requirements
- Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare setting or nursery environment.
- Demonstrable experience working with children, particularly infants or in early childhood education.
- Strong understanding of child development principles relevant to babies and toddlers.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred.
- Valid driving licence is desirable for organising outings or family events.
- Passionate about providing nurturing care while fostering early learning opportunities.
- Organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Committed to maintaining a safe environment adhering to health & safety standards at all times.
Pay: Up to £38,480.00 per year
