Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Logistics Operations Manager to lead and optimize our supply chain and logistics functions. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the end-to-end management of transportation, warehousing, shipping, and receiving operations. Your leadership will drive process improvements, ensure seamless coordination with third-party logistics providers (3PL), and maintain high standards of safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and warehouse activities.
- Manage transportation planning and execution using transportation management systems (TMS) to optimize routes, reduce costs, and improve delivery times.
- Oversee warehouse management system (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to ensure accurate inventory control and data integrity.
- Collaborate with 3PL providers to coordinate freight movement, track performance metrics, and implement service level agreements.
- Monitor profit & loss statements related to logistics activities; identify opportunities for cost savings and process efficiencies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing workflows, implementing process improvements, and promoting best practices in supply chain management.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations by managing shipping & receiving procedures, forklift operations, and warehouse safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed records of shipments, inventory levels, and operational KPIs using AS400 or similar legacy systems when applicable.
- Support team development through supervising staff, providing training on warehouse experience standards, forklift operation, and safety procedures.
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience in logistics or supply chain management roles with a focus on process improvement.
- Strong understanding of logistics concepts including warehouse operations, shipping & receiving, transportation management systems (TMS), and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Familiarity with third-party logistics (3PL) partnerships and contract negotiations.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle; knowledge of AS400 is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to warehouse operations including forklift certification requirements is preferred.
Pay: £65,000.00 per year
