Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and delivering exceptional service. Candidates should possess a valid driving licence and have prior experience in commercial driving or delivery roles. A good understanding of flatbed operations is advantageous.
Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles, including flatbed lorries, to deliver goods to clients and customers
- Plan delivery routes to optimise efficiency and minimise delays
- Load and unload items carefully, ensuring the integrity of the cargo during transit
- Obtain signatures or proof of delivery from recipients and complete relevant documentation accurately
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met
- Maintain a clean and organised vehicle interior and exterior at all times
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during routes
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies throughout all duties
Requirements
- Valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving, with a clean driving record
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is highly desirable
- Experience with flatbed lorry operations is preferred but not essential
- Experience with towing a trailer is preferred but not essential
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deliveries efficiently
- Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Physically fit to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road
