Due to the needs and requests of the person we support, we are currently recruiting FEMALES only. This is a Genuine Occupational Requirement of this position in accordance with Schedule 9 of The Equality Act 2010
The Role at a Glance
- Position: Live-In Care Assistant (Female)
- Location: Canterbury (ideally based in East Kent)
- Shift Pattern: Start: 4pm Sunday Finish: Midday Friday Then enjoy 9 nights off before your next shift!
- Pay: £923 per 5-day week
- Requirements: Driver with own car + experience in complex learning disabilities & autism
About the Role
You’ll be supporting a warm and affectionate young woman with complex learning disabilities, autism, and epilepsy as she settles into her newly built annex within her family home.
This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference during an important transition in her life, helping her feel safe, secure, and understood in a new environment.
Your support will include:
- Personal care and medication administration
- Preparing meals and supporting daily routines
- Accompanying her to college and community activities
- Encouraging engagement in enjoyable activities like walks, music, DVDs, and more
- Creating a calm, structured, and predictable environment

- You’ll work with a small, dedicated team
- You’ll support communication using a Gestalt language processing approach (training provided and willingness to learn essential)
- You’ll play a key role in helping her thrive in her own space and routine

- Experienced in supporting individuals with autism and complex needs
- Confident with maintaining professional boundaries while offering warmth and reassurance
- Comfortable working in an environment with CCTV for safety and transparency
- A driver with your own car
- Passionate about delivering person-centred care
