About the Role
We're looking for a motivated and reliable Production Manager to join our manufacturing team in Preston.
This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for managing the production of customer orders safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. You'll oversee production operatives operating machinery, carrying out quality inspections, reading technical drawings and supporting plastic welding and forming activities.
This position would suit candidates with experience as a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Factory Manager, Machine Manager, Assembly Manager or Technician Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and set up production machinery
- Complete daily machine start-up and Health & Safety checks using S2B tablets
- Manufacture products in line with work orders and production schedules
- Read and interpret technical drawings accurately
- Carry out plastic welding and forming activities to specification
- Perform quality inspections using measuring equipment
- Complete first-off, in-process and final inspections
- Use hand tools and undertake assembly and sub-assembly tasks
- Report machinery faults, equipment issues and production concerns promptly
- Maintain clean, organised and safe working areas
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and ISO quality standards
- Support waste recycling and environmental initiatives
- Work effectively to production targets and deadlines
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience

Previous experience within a management production role or similar

Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment

Experience operating machinery and supervising others do this

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Experience reading technical drawings

Good numerical and IT skills

Excellent Health & Safety awareness

Ability to follow instructions and technical specifications

Desirable Skills & Experience

Plastic welding experience

FLT Counterbalance Licence
