Senior Site Manager - Data Centre Construction

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Site Manager to join the delivery team on a major £350m data centre construction project in Enfield.
The development comprises the full construction of a state-of-the-art hyperscale data centre campus, incorporating substantial infrastructure, utilities, structural, MEP and external works packages. The project is currently entering a significant enabling works and civil engineering phase, including earthworks, drainage, utilities, roads, hardstanding and reinforced concrete construction.
Applicants must have previous experience working for a Tier 1 Main Contractor and demonstrate a successful track record delivering major construction, infrastructure or mission-critical projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily site operations to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to specification.
- Lead construction teams across multiple work fronts during enabling works, civils and main build phases.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, plant and direct labour resources.
- Develop and maintain short-term programmes and look-ahead schedules.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Monitor quality standards and manage inspection and test plans.
- Liaise closely with engineering, commercial and planning teams.
- Manage earthworks, drainage, utilities, roads, hardstanding and reinforced concrete packages.
- Drive programme performance and recovery where required.
- Identify and resolve construction challenges and site issues.
- Maintain accurate site records and reporting documentation.
- Attend client, consultant and stakeholder meetings.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with project specifications and company standards.
- Support project delivery through to commissioning and completion.
Requirements
- Previous experience working for a Tier 1 Main Contractor is essential.
- Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager on major construction, infrastructure, data centre or civil engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of enabling works, earthworks, drainage, utilities and reinforced concrete construction.
- Experience managing large subcontractor packages and site teams.
- Experience working on high-value projects with complex delivery programmes.
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience within data centres, industrial, logistics, pharmaceutical, mission-critical or major infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
