CTD Scotland Ltd is looking for an experienced Joiner / Working Foreman to join our growing team.
We are a well-established construction and fit-out contractor delivering high-quality commercial fit-out, refurbishment and construction projects across Edinburgh and Central Scotland.
This role would suit an experienced joiner who is ready to take the next step into supervision, or an existing Working Foreman who enjoys remaining hands-on while taking responsibility for the day-to-day running and quality of joinery works on site.
The Role
As Joiner / Working Foreman, you will work closely with our Site Managers and Contracts Management team to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the high standard expected by CTD.
You will be expected to lead by example and remain hands-on when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out high-quality joinery works across commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects.
- Supervise and coordinate CTD joiners and other operatives as required.
- Allocate daily tasks and ensure the team understands priorities and programme requirements.
- Monitor workmanship and ensure works are completed to drawings, specifications and CTD quality standards.
- Identify issues early and communicate them to the Site Manager / Contracts Manager.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and other trades to keep works progressing.
- Assist with material requirements, take-offs and forward planning.
- Ensure materials, tools and work areas are organised and properly maintained.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and site presentation.
- Ensure Health & Safety requirements, RAMS and site procedures are followed at all times.
- Assist with snagging, quality control and project completion.
- Take ownership of the joinery package and help drive projects through to successful handover.
What We're Looking For
- Time-served / fully qualified joiner.
- Strong background in commercial fit-out, refurbishment or high-quality construction.
- Previous supervisory or foreman experience is preferred, although we would consider an experienced joiner looking to progress.
- Excellent standard of workmanship and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
- Confident managing and motivating a small team.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and planning ahead.
- Strong understanding of site Health & Safety.
- Reliable, professional and able to represent CTD positively with clients and other contractors.
- Full UK driving licence.
