Chief Engineer – Permanent | 2 Weeks On / 2 Weeks Off
McNeill Marine is recruiting an experienced Chief Engineer for a permanent position within the UK towage sector.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Chief Engineer seeking a stable UK-based rotational position. Previous tug or towage experience is highly advantageous; however, experienced Chief Engineers from other vessel backgrounds will also be considered.
The Position
- Permanent employment
- 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation
- Salary: £71,430 per annum
- Additional £2,000 annual uplift for Class 1 Chief Engineer Unlimited
- Discretionary performance bonus of up to 5%
- Start date: 7 October 2026
- Private medical benefits available following qualifying service
Requirements
- Chief Engineer 9,000kW / 3,000GT Unlimited Area certification
- Permanent/unrestricted UK right to work
- UK-based
- Valid STCW certification
- Valid seafarer medical
- Towage/tug experience highly advantageous but not essential
