Responsibilities
- Assist the head chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient service.
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to foster a cohesive team environment.
- Prepare high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
- Monitor food production processes to ensure consistency, freshness, and adherence to food safety regulations.
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Support during service periods by serving dishes as required and assisting with customer requests.
- Uphold excellent hospitality standards by ensuring all team members deliver outstanding customer service.
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Extensive food preparation, cooking, and food safety knowledge gained through relevant culinary experience.
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive working environment.
- Experience in food production, ensuring high standards of quality control throughout all stages of meal preparation.
- Familiarity with restaurant operations, including serving procedures.
- Leadership qualities combined with excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Previous experience working in hospitality or similar fast-paced environments is highly desirable.
