Summary Rose of the Senior Care Assistant
DORA Rose Care Home are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join their new team in providing exceptional care to our residents in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both residents and staff. This role is pivotal in ensuring that care plans are implemented efficiently while supervising junior staff members.
Duties of the Senior Care Assistant
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
- Supervise and mentor junior care staff, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals to provide updates on care plans and resident wellbeing.
- Drive to various locations as required for resident appointments or activities.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and participate in the development of individual care plans.
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the care home environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills in senior care and IT systems used for record-keeping.
Requirements of the Senior Care Assistant
- Previous experience in a care home or similar environment is essential.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience supervising staff members.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with residents and their families.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties.
- Familiarity with IT systems for managing care plans and documentation is advantageous.
- A genuine passion for providing high-quality senior care and supporting the wellbeing of residents.
