Part Time Kitchen Porter / Kitchen Assistant

The Spylaw is looking for a part time Kitchen Porter / Kitchen Assistant to join our small kitchen team.
This role will be mostly weekend work, so it would suit someone reliable, hard-working and happy to be part of a busy food-led gastropub.
The main focus of the role will be kitchen porter duties, including washing dishes, keeping the kitchen clean and organised, supporting the chefs during service and helping close down properly at the end of the shift.
As we are a small team, we are also looking for someone who is willing to learn and get involved. Over time, the role will include helping with basic food prep, desserts and general kitchen tasks.
The role includes:
Washing dishes and keeping on top of the pot wash
Keeping the kitchen clean, tidy and organised
Supporting the chefs during busy services
Helping with basic prep
Learning desserts and simple kitchen tasks
Putting deliveries away
Following food hygiene and cleaning standards
Helping with kitchen close down
We are looking for someone who is:
Reliable and punctual
Hard-working and happy to get stuck in
Calm under pressure during busy services
Willing to learn and help the kitchen team
Able to work mostly weekends
Positive, tidy and organised
Kitchen experience would be helpful, but the right attitude is more important.
