Brodie Engineering Ltd is a leading rolling stock engineering business offering a comprehensive range of refurbishment, maintenance, overhaul, engineering support, project management, and repair service to the UK rail and light rail sector. The business has gone through a significant period of growth and are highly regarded within the rail industry for their high-quality delivery.
Operating from two depots in Kilmarnock, Scotland we also provide a mobile service to the rail industry over the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland.
Key clients include ScotRail, Northern Rail and Caledonia Sleeper.
We are now looking to recruit experienced Spray Painters to join our production team in Kilmarnock.
Working within our rail vehicle overhaul and refurbishment facility, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality paint finish across a range of passenger rail vehicles and components.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of rail vehicles and components prior to painting
- Masking, sanding, filling and surface preparation
- Mixing and applying primers, base coats and topcoats
- Spray painting using professional paint systems and equipment
- Carrying out paint repairs and rectification work
- Ensuring finishes meet the required quality standards
- Following paint specifications, work instructions and health & safety procedures
- Maintaining a clean and organised spray booth and working area
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience working as a Spray Painter
- Experience within rail, automotive, commercial vehicle, aerospace or a similar industrial environment would be advantageous
- Good understanding of paint preparation and finishing techniques
- Ability to achieve a consistently high standard of finish
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively as part of a production team
- Reliable and able to work to production deadlines
