Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in home care settings. The successful candidate will assist with daily living activities, promote wellbeing, and ensure residents' comfort and safety. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming in accordance with care plans
- Support clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety at all times
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as required
- Monitor and record residents’ health status, reporting any concerns to senior staff promptly
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive atmosphere
- Support the implementation of individualised care plans tailored to each resident’s needs
- Assist with medication administration under supervision where applicable
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and team members to ensure coordinated care
Skills
- Valid driving licence is desirable for home care roles involving travel between clients’ residences
- Experience working in a care home or providing home care is advantageous
- Ability to understand and follow detailed care plans accurately
- Proficiency in basic IT skills for documentation and communication purposes
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Compassionate nature with strong interpersonal skills
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
