Poppy cottage is based in Denham, Uxbridge, we have 5 supported living homes supporting adults with Disabilities
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Support Workers to provide exceptional care and support to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. The role involves assisting with daily activities, administering medication, and ensuring the wellbeing of clients. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on people's lives while working in a supportive and professional environment. All positions are paid, including internships.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Support patients with medication administration in accordance with care plans
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as required
- Engage in behaviour management strategies to promote positive interactions
- Help clients participate in activities to encourage socialisation and mental stimulation
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to senior staff
- Support clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Drive clients to appointments or outings safely when required
- Assist with household tasks such as light cleaning and organising personal belongings
- Follow health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary
Skills
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or home care is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s, hospice, or senior care is advantageous
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards vulnerable individuals
- Ability to administer medication accurately and follow prescribed care plans
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients and team members effectively
- Ability to handle behavioural challenges with patience and professionalism
- Basic first aid knowledge is essential; additional training will be provided if necessary
- Valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients or running errands
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and assisting with mobility needs
- Organised approach to managing multiple tasks efficiently
