Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Night Care Assistant to provide high-quality care and support during overnight hours in a care home environment. As a Night Care Assistant, you will work closely with the team to deliver personalized care plans, respond promptly to residents' needs, and maintain a calm and reassuring presence during your shift. Duties
- Monitor residents overnight to ensure their safety, comfort, and well-being at all times
- Respond promptly and effectively to residents’ calls for assistance or emergencies
- Assist with personal care tasks such as toileting, mobility support, and medication reminders in accordance with care plans
- Conduct regular checks of the premises, including bedrooms and communal areas, to identify any issues or hazards
- Maintain accurate records of residents’ conditions, incidents, and any care provided using IT systems
- Communicate clearly with team members during handovers to ensure continuity of care
- Support residents’ emotional needs by providing companionship and reassurance during the night
Skills
- Strong communication skills in English to interact effectively with residents and team members
- Ability to follow detailed care plans accurately and compassionately
- Good IT skills for recording observations and updating care records electronically
- Valid driving license is advantageous for supporting home care visits or transportation needs
- Experience working in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
- Excellent observational skills to identify changes in residents’ health or behavior
- Reliable, patient, and able to work independently during overnight shifts
