Construo Recruitment are working in partnership with a specialist education provider to recruit a Construction Tutor to deliver City & Guilds Construction programmes to learners aged 16–19.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional or vocational tutor who is passionate about developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople. The role would also suit someone looking to transition from industry into education, with support available to achieve a teaching qualification if required.
The Role
As Construction Tutor, you will deliver engaging vocational construction programmes while supporting learners in developing practical skills, employability and progression into further education or employment.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering City & Guilds Level 1 and Level 2 Construction and Employability programmes
Planning lessons and schemes of work
Assessing learner progress and maintaining accurate assessment records
Managing a safe and compliant construction workshop environment
Supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, ASC and SEMH needs
Encouraging learner development, achievement and progression
Liaising with employers to support work placements and industry engagement
Participating in quality assurance activities and continuous professional development
Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and learner welfare
Requirements
Level 3 qualification in a construction-related discipline
Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one
GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
Construction industry experience
Experience delivering vocational training or mentoring desirable
Good understanding of workshop health & safety
Strong communication and organisational skills
Passion for supporting learner development
Desirable
Experience delivering City & Guilds qualifications
Experience supporting learners with SEND
TAQA/A1 or IQA qualification
CSCS Card
First Aid qualification
