Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our compassionate care team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior care within a care home environment, demonstrating leadership, supervisory skills, and a genuine commitment to enhancing residents' quality of life. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting residents' daily needs, implementing care plans, and supervising junior staff to ensure the delivery of high-standard care.
Duties
- Provide personalized care to residents, assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support.
- Implement and review individual care plans to meet each resident’s specific needs and preferences.
- Supervise and mentor junior care staff, fostering a positive team environment focused on excellent service delivery.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care coordination.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities and resident progress using IT systems designed for healthcare settings.
- Support residents’ emotional well-being through empathetic engagement and companionship.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to care management, including updating care plans and reporting incidents.
- Drive residents safely within the community or on outings using company vehicles when required.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a care home or senior care setting is essential.
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare or social care environment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of developing, implementing, and reviewing individual care plans tailored to elderly residents.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and team members.
- Ability to use IT systems for documentation, scheduling, and communication purposes.
- Valid driving license preferred for assisting with outings or transportation needs.
- Demonstrated understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to senior care environments.
