Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. This role involves providing essential assistance and guidance to individuals, particularly children and young adults with learning Daisabilities, to promote their well-being, development, and independence. Responsibilities
- Offer personalised support to individuals, fostering their emotional and social development
- Assist with daily activities, including personal care and organisational tasks
- Provide mentoring and encouragement to help build confidence and independence
- Support children in educational activities, promoting learning through engaging teaching methods
- Develop customised programmes tailored to individual needs and goals
- Collaborate with families, carers, and other professionals to ensure consistent support
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records of support sessions and activities
Requirements
- Experience or interest in mentoring, working with children, or teaching is highly desirable
- Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills
- Ability to build trusting relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Organised and proactive approach to supporting personal development plans
- Flexibility to adapt support strategies as required
- Valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one prior to employment
- Paid experience or training in care or education settings is advantageous but not essential
