We are looking for a well-organised and proactive Planning Assistant to join our Operations Department. Working closely with, and reporting to, the Planning Manager, you will help plan and issue daily work schedules, develop forward plans based on customer programmes, and respond to day-to-day changes and alterations. This is a hands-on role at the centre of a fast-moving operation, liaising daily with our catch teams, our Transport Team, and customer Planning departments.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in planning the daily catching schedule and issuing work schedules
- Respond to and support the achievement of customer requirements
- Liaise daily with catch teams and customer Planning departments
- Collaborate with the Transport and Accounts Teams to keep the operation running efficiently
- Maintain accurate planning records and schedules
- Support the company's health and safety, biosecurity, and welfare procedures
About you
- Well organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise in a fast-changing environment
- A confident communicator, comfortable liaising with teams, drivers, and customers by phone and email
- Competent IT user (Microsoft Office or similar); experience with scheduling/planning systems an advantage
- Experience in planning, logistics, transport, or agricultural operations desirable but not essential – full training provided
- Flexible approach to working hours, as some out-of-hours contact may be required to respond to schedule changes
